Alexis Dielman, MA, TLLP
Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist
Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to view my profile! My name is Alexis, and I practice as a therapist here at Child and Family Psychological Services.
First and foremost, I strive to create a warm, relaxed therapy environment that allows you to feel heard, and able to share your feelings and thoughts. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process, wherein you and I will work as a team to explore the difficulties that have brought you here, and ways in which we can help you navigate them.
Often, people find that difficult situations, thoughts, or emotions can get in the way of engaging fully with day-to-day life, our relationships, and even ourselves. As a therapist, I like to approach my work using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which uses mindfulness, acceptance, and commitment to behavior change to address those difficult thoughts and feelings, and ultimately, help you engage more fully with life.
If you feel that my therapy style might be a good fit for you, I hope you will reach out and take the first step toward engaging in the process of working together.
A little about me: I graduated from Western Michigan University with my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. My undergraduate studies were at Michigan State University (Go Green!). Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and cat (her name is Buttons), hiking, going to the beach, and reading.
